Duties: As caretaker at the Zebrafish facility you are responsible for adequate husbandry of the zebrafish in the facility. This includes for example feeding, maintenance of aquatic systems, control of water quality and health check of zebrafish. Occasionally some moments can be physically demanding. The work also includes managing fish breeding and maintaining appropriate records. Work such as, genotyping, phenotypic studies and simpler work with microscopes could be part of the duties. This position might require weekend work. The candidate will work close to the users of the facility wherefore we value a good sense of service.
Requirements: Gymnasium degree, or skills that the employer considers equivalent. We are looking for qualified and motivated candidates with an interest in animal health and welfare. Good interpersonal skills are required as well as the ability to work both independently and in groups. An ability of initiative and a structured approach is important for this position. As a person, you are efficient, accurate, and eager to develop the operation. Particular emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. The position requires good English language skills.
Additional qualifications: Post-secondary education in biology and/or chemistry. Good knowledge in Swedish. Previous experience of working with zebrafish or other aquatic model organisms. Previous experience in molecular biology methods.
